Re: Golden B.B Blues

THanks BNB! I take no offense to constructive criticism, as I need it to learn and progress. I actually get what you are saying, as upon listening to it, that was my gut reaction. I am going to go record it again and post it here. It is going to be better this time and I will take it easy and slow d...

Re: Recordings...

In my case, the rush of musical output I can easily attribute to the fact that I have a cold. I enjoy listening to others recordings, as they give me the courage and i inspiration to record.

Something new...

Hi all! The following piece of music is a result of an experiment I had with a rhythm guitar sound and a synthetic pad called "Floating Embers" in Garageband, and my resulting attempt to play lead over this strange creation, which sounds rather outwardly, what I imagine E.T and others of h...

Golden B.B Blues

Hi all! I saw MR's Golden Blues, but did not listen to his take, merely listened to the backing track that he offered up if anybody were willing to have a go. And so I did my own take, and I imagined a lead sound like I originally thought of long ago, long before I started learning lead guitar of wh...

Re: Bad Cold Blues

Thanks MR!

I think I really like playing this new more aggressive side to my playing.

Bad Cold Blues

Hi all! I just came down with a really nasty cold, and am feeling rather poorly at the moment. But I figured that I would play something. I used the Slow Blues C7 track that I used for a previous track and did it on a more aggressive sounding and dirty setting (Ala Cream.), and I used a heavier vibr...

Monthly Jam tonight!

Hi all! As the monthly jam tonight coincided with EC's 67th birthday, my guitar teacher had us play a bunch of Clapton songs tonight in his honor. We forgot to play Happy Birthday, but I figure that EC would be pleased with our tribute: EC Songs we played: Badge (Had a blast trading solos with my gu...

Happy Birhday Eric!

Hope you have a good birthday and keep on playing! I am going to be playing a bunch of Eric's songs tonight at the jam and dress up for this.

Re: What is your recording setup?

Mineis like VB's in that is simple, perhaps overly so. Sometimes I will record using my guitar--->amp---->iPhone or iPad mic, or sometimes it will be guitar---->iRig----->My Mac laptop. It depends on how I feel at the time. If I want a more quality recording I will choose the latter, but if I am not...

Day's End Near

Hi all! This is just an end of the day piece that I did to a track that I found called "Slow Blues in Bm", perhaps found it on jam tracks.ru, I don't quite remember. But any way, after a long day of exercise, this is me venting my steam about the long day. StratLover2 http://12bar.de/commu...

Re: On a Go Slow

Hi VB! To me at least, playing different genres can be easy or fairly difficult depending on the genre. Rock/blues, are my stronger points I think, as I can simply use it as a tool to take my moody feelings out, as a punching bad. The soothing/melodic ones, are fairly challenging, in that I have to ...

Re: Take 2 BluesG7 Collab - New thread

If nobody minds, I would like to take the first slot. I will go ahead and do my part, it will be interesting to contrast it to the other collab. :) EDIT: I did my part. I warmed up by playing over the Groaning Blues BT rediscovered here, to warm up my blues licks. I think it must have done me good. ...

UnSkilled Revisited

Hi all! A while back, VB did a backing track called "Unskilled", a blues in G of sorts, that he played bass over the original BT. And I did a lead play-over as it were, but now, a year I think or so later, I decided to do another one, to see how far I have come. I apologize for the occasio...

Re: Funky A (An experiment in tremelo)

Thanks VB! I figure that if I keep trying new things, my musical knowledge will expand. I've been lately experimenting with playing over funky/strange grooves like this to expand my lead playing. I am just starting to get comfortable with the tremolo arm, and I am using it more as an accenting tool ...

Funky A (An experiment in tremelo)

Hi all! A while ago, I installed my Floyd Rose tremelo arm on my Carvin CT624M (Torrance, for those who know her), and have been mucking about with using it. I am hardly a Jeff Beck, and at first I did not produce much in the way of noises that were pleasant, many sounding like dying animals! But no...

Derailin' Blues

Hi all! I downloaded this BT from a free guitar backing track site, and it is called "Chicago Blues in G.", so I fired up Garageband, and used a preset setting that I created in Garageband (Similar to Eric's 80 sound.), and then jammed to the track. Hope you enjoy! StratLover2 http://12bar...

Re: Collab Blues G7

Alrighty, here is my bit, along with everybody else' for easiness. I simply tweaked a Garageband preset, recorded using iRig and volia! Honestly, I was not really thinking too much about what I was playing, and I was surprised when this came out! This is probably amongst the most natural, I have fel...
