Plugged Layla into my Carvin V3 last night...
Hi all! I played Layla, my new Clapton Strat into my Carvin V3 (http://www.carvin.com/guitaramps/v3series.php, the V3812 full stack) last night into my room, like I've been doing for a couple of days, and I was really impressed by the sound I got on both the clean and the distorted channels. On the ...

Layla's first song... African Nights
Hi all! I hope that this sounds a lot more organized than I thought it was. I have had a hectic few weeks, going to horse shows and working, and doing school, so when it came time to do a song with Layla, I decided that it should be fairly quiet and laid back, to reflect my resting from a fairly hec...

Re: NGD! Clapton Sig Art Strat!
Well, I ended up last night going with the name "Layla". I found it quite interesting that DB suggested that name, at almost the same time I was thinking about it..

Re: NGD! Clapton Sig Art Strat!
Thank you everybody! I am really enjoying getting to know this fantastic guitar! Here's a quick little ditty I wrote on the new guitar, if you'd like to hear how she sounds (I'm having trouble naming her, trying to come up with a suitable name for her beauty..) http://12bar.de/community/download/fil...

NGD! Clapton Sig Art Strat!
Hi all! So today I was advised to look out for a mystery package from U.P.S from my father, and so when I got home from work today, I discovered this beauty: IMG_0831.jpg When I plugged it in to my Micro Cube, I turned it onto the clean channel, and played around with the clean sounds. Sparkly and b...

It's All Over Now!
Hi all! I wrote this song before my Buisness Management class test today, and I finished it after I passed it! Whew! It was quite a challenging test, but I got by. The annoying thing is though, I don't know how much I squeaked or not by the cut score! Back to the song though, I did it in Garageband ...

Re: Spring Nights
Thanks Gerd! Now that I went back and listened to it, you are right! I guess I was inspired by the lead sounds on "Badge." The organ is from Garageband. I could not believe how good the sound was. Apple seems to have nailed the "smart" instrument sounds. All I did was tap the cho...

Spring Nights
Hi all! I came up with this little song yesterday, just messing around again with my iPad. Unlike the last few, I added an organ, which sounds to me a lot like a Hammond B3. (Don't worry Gerd, I've turned it down slightly), and it gives this song a really bouncy but really neat '60s feel. I messed a...

I'm Still Alive!
Hi all! I wrote this song on my iPad, as I am currently recovering from a cold/slight cough sort of a business. When it came time to title this I thought "What should I name it?", and my sickness spurred on the title "I'm Still Alive!", even though my sickness is not life threate...

Re: Another iPad production!
Thank you everybody! I felt slightly uncomfortable with this tune when I first started playing lead on it, as it is a different genre, but really, I thought, I could make something cool sounding with this mix of different styles, and so I did! As you all have pointed out, technology is constantly ch...

Another iPad production!
Hi all! When I got back home today, I recorded this little song on my iPad, using the smart guitar/bass/drum function, and recorded my lead to my custom backing track. I called this song "A Dream of the West", really not having any idea where I would go with the lead. It turned out to be q...

Re: After a long wait... I am back!
Thank you everybody! Deacon, I used the iPad version which is slightly different, but all my other uploads have been from the desktop version of Gargaeband.
Using this version though, I can make my own BTs, which is handy.

After a long wait... I am back!
Hi all! After a long hiatus from recording, I have recorded a song! The cool thing about this was, that it was all recorded in the iPad with the Garageband app. I did the smart guitar, bass, keyboards and drums for this backing track, which may not have the best timing, but it is a proof of concept ...

Re: A new sound from Torrance.. Aggressive noodling
Thanks VB! Sorry about the long delay to response! Anyways, I've been slowly re-visiting this sound, not only on Torrance, but on my Roland VG Strat, who I named "Andromeda" both after the character from Harry Potter, and the star. It seems to really fit my playing these days for some reas...

Re: What kind of gear do you have and are you happy with it?
I have nine guitars, and three amps. 1. 2004 Fender Toronado (This was a short lived model made from 1998-2006, and it was I believe Fender's competitor in a way to the Gibson SG. From what I've heard from it, it sounds to me more Gibson-like than any Fender I have ever touched, and from hearing Gib...

A good review of the concert at the Sports Arena. I think I Shot the Sheriff, Bad Love, Badge, and Crossroads were for me the highlights of the night.

Re: Saw Eric Sunday night!
For your enjoyment, here is a Youtube video of "I Shot the Sheriff" from that night. This one is not mine, but the person was almost directly opposite and up a level from where I sat. YzX8a1yAAeE About that review, I don't know what he was expecting, but EC put on quite the show. The best ...
