Re: Teach Me A Lesson

I also believe that music is something to make with others, being constantly on your own , locked away up there in your study (nice though it is) and playing to possums ( or whatever wee creature frequents you back garden) ...................won't bring out the best in you. Good luck in your tutor ...

Re: My Gibson ES-339

Jim, learning to play and learning something about the technical side of a guitar, which strings, which pickup, what works well etc. is an ongoing process and that's what makes guitar playing such fun, at least for me. I often feel helpless listening to EC's perfect mixture of tone and note. I know...

I usually work with tab in tandem with a recording of the material I am learning.

Re: My Gibson ES-339

Good question about intonation... I would like to learn more about this from those who have the experience. I would also like to know if we are doing this correctly using a tuner. Also, why on earth is my bridge floating??? Is that a good thing, a bad thing or does it make any difference at all ???...

Re: Shuffle in G w/slide and strat...

Thanks guys, appreciate the compliments. VB, I, too prefer a good live album. I like live music in general. I know that I could use the software to put together something that sounds nice and mistake free, but that seems like a lot of work. Not much to "cover up" there.... super...

Re: Open mic update, and call for information

Thanks, VB. Yeah, I think it is just gonna take practice and plugging away at it. :wall: You know, it's funny; I am way more comfortable on stage (with a band) than playing in front of my computer, but you stick a mic in front of me, and my throat closes up and my mind goes blank. I am not even comf...

Open mic update, and call for information

This week we actually had a whole band, :chicken: drums, bass, guitar, and keyboards. For a while, a tourist from Berlin sat in on drums, and the drummer got up and played some excellent harp. :harp: 016 - Copy.JPG A fly in the ointment is that singers are kind of thin on the ground around here. (at...

Re: Kossoff Collaboration

Hell yeah!, VB that sounds good! I have no idea what that tune was "supposed" to sound like so I just played what the changes seemed to call for. I think what you played complimented what I played really well (no matter what it was "supposed" to sound like)) I am looking forward to hearing more! I a...

Thanks Strummer.
No, I haven't listened to them any more than was on the radio when I was growing up (All Right Now). I saw them in concert once, but it was long after Paul Kossof passed.

Never really listened to Kossof, but here is a take on that riff. Sorry it took so long, I have been pretty busy.
