Re: Original Backing, C Min Blues

Here's my go at the first part to let you start moving on to the rest of the collab.
Wav file of guitar only sent to Tytl.

Good to have you on-board BB.

Have fun guys! :D

Re: Original Backing, C Min Blues

Cheers Tom - that'll all be good as far as I'm concerned. :D Might be the weekend before I can give it proper attention as I'm busy at work with auditors in this week. I liked what I heard you do and that encouraged me to get the guitar out again. Did manage a more successful noodle tonig...

Re: Original Backing, C Min Blues

That's good Tytl .... I will try and take the opportunity to get some practice in while you get things started. Tonight I got the PRS P90 out, tuned it (all strings down a semitone except the G-string which was at E!), plugged in the recording interface and managed to remember the settings, and then...

Re: Original Backing, C Min Blues

Hi Tytl - hope you're doing well too! I could hear some possible notes in my head when I listened to your backing track, so I might have a look at this, possibly with a view to a collab. But I've not played an electric guitar for the last 4 months since we moved house and not for a good f...

Nice end result - better every time - how upgrades should be.
That'll take you back well to old memories of your visit when you look at it in the future.

Sweet!

I can just about recall what new arrivals in the family are like.

Great fun, and enjoy doting on them both. :D

Re: Your favourite blues record

I guess my favourite will vary depending on mood and energy levels.

Some will always be high on the list - like Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac's Jumping at Shadows, or John Lee Hooker's Tupelo Blues.
It's very likely that the favourite at any time will have slow and moody playing on it!

Re: 14 Month Stretch

Thanks fenson! :D

I do appreciate your post. The delay in my reply is just down to lack of time for on-line and forum leisure this last few weeks.
Hopefully in a couple of months there'll be some spare time again.

 I thought I'd replied to this. Probably one of those senior moment sand I forgot to click on the "submit" button. :oldie: Thanks for listening and it's good to hear you say it works as it is :D , cos I'm almost certain with my track record that I'll not revisit it. Mostly just trying to capt...

The sad tale of the SG unfolds here if you want to look:- https://12bar.de/community/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2497&hilit=gibson+sg+p90 Things were fine to begin with - it sounded good testing it out on its own. The honeymoon period lasted six weeks or so and then shortcomings became apparent. In particul...

Re: The price of playing the blues

The Blues is a great outlet for feeling, though I do sometimes wonder too at that cost of expressing pain so honestly. Peter Green has certainly had well documented problems and there's certainly some of his playing has had heartfelt feelings come through. But sometimes expressing feelings can be ca...

Re: White room improv

Thank you guys! Very sorry to hear about your arthritis, but acoustic blues is where's it's at :oldie: I picked up my V6 strat first of all because it looked stunning (see pic) and it felt amazing when I tried it. Not sure about their attentiveness to marketing (still skeptical about their choice o...

Re: White room improv

Totally agree - the tone and the playing shows you're very far from a beginner! As for mistakes, I'd rather hear a full of life and emotional piece of playing with a few mistakes, than a note perfect and too clinical performance. White Room is one of my favourite Cream tracks and you did a very good...

Re: The (Sad) Flower of Magherally

Thanks Ulysses! :D I've been a bit(!) sidetracked into acoustic guitars and DADGAD tuning these last few years. But the practice in blues and the help I got here have been a help in exploring the new genre / field. I see what you mean about "Greensleeves" - it hadn't occurred to me but you're right....

14 Month Stretch

So I was messin' around on the guitar and a sort of structured slightly bluesy thing started happening. I hit record. Maybe this could be developed into something, though usually when I say that nothing ends up happening! Not sure what style (if any) this is. :music1: 14 Month Stretch.mp3 Cal...

Sorry to hear about the flu - it must be a bad dose if my tune fitted the way you felt so well. Hope you feel better soon!
