Re: A Blindboy original...

The only word that comes to mind when I listen to this is 'Hoppin'! There are a few more actually, but they're all synonyms for 'awesome.' Really cool tune BB, and the clickity-clack drums give it a great vibe!

Re: HBL strange creation

Real cool noodlin'! ... for some reason it reminded me of Last Goodbye by Jeff Buckley... I think the musical association part of my brain needs some rest.

Re: A question for all you 'lefty' players

I'm a lefty (see my handle? ) playing righty, and I've wondered quite a few times whether I'd sound the same now if I started out playing left-handedly. I was never uncomfortable with a right-handed guitar, but that's probably because I'd never picked up a southpaw one before: I think if...

Re: Nicotine deprivation jazz from the open mic...

Verrrry cool tune Blindboy; and for never having practiced it with the band, I think it came off swimmingly! Any chance you'd let us know the chords?

Re: Rory Gallagher Irish Tour 74 Blu Ray

I saw Rory Gallagher in the mid '80s, it was very nice to see him live. The encore were amazing  *Is jealous forever.* And the filmmaking was excellent too. No crazy edits or camera zooms like the Cream Farewell Concert dvd. I've heard that the Irish Tour movie suffered a little fr...

Re: This guy is outta hand!!!!

First fella probably gets my vote too; second guy was alright, just didn't seem like there was much guts in it.

Also, does anyone else realllllly not like (okay.. hate) the sound of the acoustic guitars they make them play on? To each their own, of course, but they sound wimpy to me.

Re: Saw Johnny Winter Last Night- Pics Inside!

He's playing the black Lazer again? I love love love the sound of his white one (and I've tried to copy it many times), but the black one always sounded harsh to me, never quite as nice; but I'm nobody to be telling Johnny what to play! I saw him a couple years ago, and I think I definitely got to s...

Re: First little steps of a Fender strat

 I've never found my way with the neck/middle position on Stratocasters, and it's the only one I never ever ever use, but you seem to have it down! Also, does the guitar have the vintage style frets on it? I played a '57 reissue a while ago with the vintage frets, and they're great for cho...

Guys, I'm thrilled you've enjoyed them so much, and that some of you have heard them before!  That was a really cool interview, Gerd- thanks for finding it.

Cool cigar box guitars too, ElMano! Hope to hear 'em soon!

Gentlemen, it is my duty

To inform you of one beauty..." Actually, to inform you of a little outfit from Kansas I had the ridiculous pleasure to see live in July at the North Atlantic Blues Festival here in Maine, called Moreland & Arbuckle. XKIk-igClRA I'd heard them on satellite radio for a while, and liked them ...

Re: Firebird X

:eye_rub: Ehm.... I don't think so. I haven't been impressed with Gibson at all for a pretty long time now. Like VikingBlues said, it seems they're catering more to the collectors, instead of the people who need guitars- guitarists! They're just too overpriced. (I don't usually like their sound anyw...

Re: Using what is to hand...

Good quick thinkin', Blindboy! I was at my grandparent's house last Thanksgiving, and there is a really old acoustic under a couch in one of the rooms. The action is so high on it through the warped neck that you can't really even push the strings down, one of the tuners is missing so eve...

Huge treble increase

Hi everyone, About two weeks ago I played outside at a friend's school for an arts week they do every year. Afterwards, I brought all my gear home, and I had it in my room for a week before I moved it down the hall to the room where I play (that stuff's heavy!) What I noticed when I started playing,...

Re: Slow C blues Collaboration anyone?

Notes to self on solo: 4:11 - Uh-oh, backing track's too quiet: gotta turn it up! 4:41 - What was that cool thing with the one tapped note I figured out the other day? I guess I'll try it here. 4:45 - It's wrapping up! Quick, try and throw in that Johnny Winter thing! 4:55 - Think that other Johnny ...

I sent in my solo to nxsneil yesterday (did it get through? I've never had good luck sending files) so I think we should be hearing the final mix pretty soon.

Re: Slow C blues Collaboration anyone?

Ah- sorry! :shy: I've been meaning to check whether procrastination runs in my family, but I've never gotten around to it... Bad jokes aside, I'll try and get to it tomorrow afternoon. The sound won't be great, probably, but nobody's ears should bleed too badly. Sorry to make everyone wait... :shy: ...
