Re: How should I start?
Playing guitar is a physical activity, like kicking a ball. You can learn all you want about the theory of kicking a ball, but it still comes down to practice and feel and muscle memory. If you start thinking too much while you're trying to kick the ball, you're going to muff it. I agree...

Re: Greatest guitar solo....ever
Jimi Hendrix playing All Along The Watchtower was the guitar soloing that made me want to learn guitar.
Special mention goes to Neil Young - Down By The River.

Re: What are you listening to now?
Well it may not be blues, but I've been listening to The Social Network soundtrack, by Trent Reznor (of nine inch nails) and Atticus Ross. Absolutely amazing electronic tunes.
On the bluesier side of things, well soul/rhythm and blues, I've just bought Mavis Staples- You Are Not Alone.

I'm not a huge fan of any of Eric's studio albums that I've heard- though haven't got From The Cradle.
Live recordings is where he shines.

I've also got the epiphone casino on my wishlist. Unfortunately I spent all my money going overseas and now have a fair bit of debt to pay off before I can get one. I've also tried out the LP goldtop with p90s, but the casino is the sound I want. They're more in the $1,000 to $1,200 range over here....

Steps for blocking trem:
1. Don't do it- learn to love the trem
Sorry, I've got nothing of use to add...

Re: Forumla 1
:tears: That was pretty hard to watch... At least Mark tried something by pitting early- though probably should have done it even earlier while the safety car was out. Don't know what Alonso was thinking though- he pretty much gifted it to Vettel while trying to cover Webber's move. I don't think he...

I know this doesn't even remotely relate to blues, but there's currently less than an hour until the final formula 1 race of the season and I'm getting nervous, so I thought I'd post. I'm hoping for a miracle so that Mark Webber can win the championship, which is what is needed after a pretty poor q...
Re: Facebook
No facebook for me- I refuse to conform.
I did like 'the social network' film though...
Kalle, is your daughter going to be staying anywhere in particular, or going all over the place?

Re: Any Record Collectors Here?
I've got a few records, though nothing especially rare. My favourite is a George Harrison 'Concert For Bangladesh' LP which is a triple vinyl release in a cool package. My main want is a Neil Young 'Time Fades Away' LP, which is the only one of his albums not to have been released on another format,...

It's definitely on the (very long) list of music equipment I want...I'd recommend giving it a try if you can. It really given me some extra air to the sound in my recordings.

Re: Good Vibrations (No - not the song!)
I've also had the understanding that being able to feel the guitar vibrating is a good thing- and my experience has found this to be true.
I also think that your theory on why a one piece body sounds pretty convincing, but also don't have the technical knowledge to back this up.

Great clips- I'd never realised how much of a difference the mic position made. I thought it would be much more subtle.
Unfortunately I don't have a mic, so can't actually offer any constructive input...

Roll it over the song that appears on the Rainbow concert has any one listened to the words and thought how rude it sounds what does it mean? Do you have to ask? Although the fact that you've pointed it out as sounding rude, I think you're on the right track ;) But seriously, I didn't know this son...

Shorting tube/valve
Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a problem with my blues junior. I don't have much technical knowledge or experience with amps. I was just playing it when all of a sudden the sound of the strings disappeared and a deep hum started getting progressively louder. I noticed the ...
