Re: GarageBand and an iPad
I see there's a Guitar Synth for iOS called ROXSYN - Polyphonic and apparently tracks bends and vibrato. Just plug the guitar in through the USB interface or one of those iRig type thingys. Not looked into it much, so don;t know whether it'll do the job that well. :icon_whoknows: But I recall using ...

Re: GarageBand and an iPad
Thanks Hans! :D All very far from blues and guitar, but I find it relaxing and fun. Recently been exploring another Rob Jackson App called Touchscaper where you have more input into the arrangement, keys, chord choices etc. While it still has it's own interpretation and probability based choices goi...

Thanks guys! :D The Tonelab LE was one of my better multi fx purchases. Cancel that ... THE best. Solid, weighs a ton. Lots of metal. Knobs and switches for each function - no multi layer menu on a little screen rubbish. 11 types of reverb, 11 types of delay. 6 tweakable settings on each. 16 amps wi...

Re: Archtop By Squier!
All worked out very well - you've certainly done a fine upgrade. Look forward to hearing the results. Good to hear it came with wiring harness, pots and caps and the like. As it should. The last Gibson electric I got (in 2012) was marred by a PCB arrangement. Complete with special Gibson ...

GarageBand and an iPad
Music-wise I've been distracted away from a significant portion of my guitar playing this last 7 weeks. Over the years my wife has used Mac's for a computer while I have stuck with Windows. I tried a couple of times to get to grips with the versions of GarageBand ("GB") she had on her Mac ...

Re: New song, original backing track, Slow blues C
Here's a "stab" at playing along to this BT. Having a stab was what I fancied doing to the PC (with a great big knife) when I heard unwanted blips of noise when playing the piece back in the DAW. Thankfully I didn't scrap it to try again (or give up), because having exported as a file the ...

That is one lovely looking guitar Fenson!
Swapping out pickups - often a good idea with a new electric guitar!
The only two left in my collection both had the original pickups dispensed with. Happily!
Should sound great with the DeArmonds. Vintage tones - gotta love 'em.

I see the BT and have downloaded it.
I'll play around a bit. Collab could be possible - I'll post back on the thread that as soon as I can about that.

Nice! Thanks Tom.
I'll take a look at this and see if anything evolves.
Can't promise how quickly - a bit caught up in things like changing the car and general life stuff.

Re: New song, original backing track, Slow blues C
That hiatus hasn't lost you your ability young Tom, and great to hear you playing again!!!! Excellent note choices as always. If you can pass me a copy of that BT I do fancy a go at seeing if I can produce something. I'm just approaching 68 and usually take some comfort from the idea that you...

Good link fenson.
Glad to hear him saying scales are pallets and what matters is the note choices.
I spent a long time playing scales before getting to the art of listening and making note choices.
Sadly I'm still not far down the road but it was great to at least be on that road.

Re: Hello from Tytl Blues
Hi Tytl - good to see you around still. :D Sometimes a break from the guitar can be a good thing. If it comes back to you I'm sure with your levels of skill it'll all be back to best in no time. Seems to me the older I get the less time i have for everything and my poor guitars get neglected.

Re: R.I.P. Jeff
Thanks for posting that link Fenson. It shows that a good song / tune can be played in a lot of different arrangements. By a coincidence I was just watching the Jeff Beck version of this at Ronnie Scotts with Tal Wilkenfeld (then just 21) on bass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VC02wGj5g...

Nearly a month since I last wrote on this thread :icon_whoknows: .... been very distracted with non guitar stuff I'm afraid. But probably more of that later and elsewhere on the forum threads. Sorry you had so much troubles with getting recording up and running again Gerd. I hadn't heard that ...

A huge shock - especially because he looked in good fettle on his recent tour.
A unique player who followed his own unique path. RIP.
