Re: It's Burnin' Down In Texas...

My wife and I was talking about this today we live in northwest texas, and it has been very dry and we have had many fires this summer. It normally is very brown here, my niece from Alabama calls it the desert, but this summer most everything has been black, luckily nothing has hit at the house but ...

Re: Epiphone Sheraton?

I was thinking of swapping out the pickups of whatever I end up with for better Gibson pups, but the idea of trying to work through f-holes makes me queasy :shy: I know a couple of tricks to make life a lot easier when swapping pickups and pot's through F-holes. If you are planning that, just pm me...

Re: Epiphone Sheraton?

Hey thanks for all the info, especially HBL for the soundclips. The Dot sounds great in your hands! The Sheraton is prettier imo (sorry!) but if the sound is almost the same, do I want to spend an extra €200 on prettiness? Hmmm, maybe  the Artcore is definitely on my radar, oldskoolchop. If ...

New Guitar

Just got an Ibanez artcore semi this week and just finished setting it up, it took about an hour. put a set of 13 flatwounds on it, adj. the truss, set action as low as could with out buzz, and set intonation. Man does it play great, I cant put it down. The only thing now is to come up with the mone...

Re: Learnin the thrill is gone

I don't think there's any need to learn it note for note :music2: That is what I was thinking I know the chord progression and i'm in the right key with the solo's still working on timing in some places, but I was leaning toward recording some backing tracks and giving it a whirl of my own instead ...

Learnin the thrill is gone

Does anyone have a good The thrill is gone tab, or know where one is on the web. The ones I have seen don't seem just right and I cant do it all by ear. I got the chords and think the right scales but cant break down the notes well enough. Also when you work on a song do you try to hit every note th...

Re: GAS never will Stop!........Mic'ed amps Vs. Computer

Hey I use garageband on a mac with a line 6 ux1, and i have the same mic. To me it depends, if just jamming and brainstorming I just use the line 6 catalogue which is pretty good, sometimes I want a real warm feel and I go with the mic, even then I use a little of both worlds and mix them in togethe...

Re: Epiphone Sheraton?

Have you tried an Ibanez Artcore AS? I really like mine better than the Epi's I have played and even a few Gretsch's. I will say I did like the Sheraton's better than the Dot's.

Re: I hate PCs

I hate PC's also, cant stand them not even for non music related items. The last time I mentioned this somewhere it started a heated argument and that is not my intentions. When I was looking for a new computer I invested in a mac and all my problems went away. As for recording music it came with ga...

Hello, I am 35 have played guitar since I was 15, mostly metal. About 3 months ago I started learning a little jazz and have been slowly leaning towards blues instead. I like the guitar focus, feel, and rhythm in blues, but still like the all instrumental forms of jazz. Anyway my influences come fro...
