Re: Crossroads 2013

The CD and DVD are finally out.

I also heard a rumor that there will be a crossroads tour in several cities this year. I have no idea if this is credible, but I hope it is....

Re: Crossroads 2013

Just got back from NY and saw both shows. I'm not sure I can add much more than the real reviews, but since I haven't had much to contribute to the site lately, I'll give it a go: Having been to the last 2 Crossroads in Chicago, I was very curious as to how they were going to pull this off being ins...

RIP Guitar Slim

Guitar Slim passed away last week. I saw him at a few years ago at Legends here in Chicago and he was a great one with an interesting story. Look him up if you get a chance.

Sandy benefit concert

Everyone might already know about this, but in case news didn't travel over the pond, Clapton is playing the 121212 Sandy benefit concert in NY this Wed. It will be aired on a bunch of stations, so I hope everyone can see it. The lineup looks amazing: Stones, Vedder, Floyd, Springsteen and a whole b...

Re: Crossroads 2013 - Bring it On !

To me, it would make sense to host one in his native land. Plus, I've been looking for a reason to make the trek to jolly old England! The only other place I could see him doing it here in the states would be in the south somewhere. I'm excited about the lineup, but curious about the format. If I re...

Re: Crossroads 2013 - Bring it On !

I got my tickets to both shows this morning. I bought the cheapies (which were even expensive!) Looked in to flights to NY and a hotel. This is going to be an expensive trip!

I hope other from the board can make it!

I like that rack, too.

What's the consensus with hanging your guitars by their necks? Any harm to them?

Re: Best value Les Paul copy?

I know all too well about spending time at work looking for new guitars. Gives me something to look forward to in the mornings... I've really enjoyed my Epi Goldtop with p-90s. It may not be a Gibson, but it really does sound and feel great. I'd recommend it. Although now I've been eyeing Tytlblues ...

Re: clapton and strats

Thanks, 12bar! I guess I always thought he made the switch later in his career, like the 80s. It's nice to know he didn't do it for a sponsorship or something. Speaking from a someone who just got into Clapton several years back (right around the time I found this site), I've always viewed his Cream...

Hey all, I haven't been posting much lately because...well, I haven't had much to say. But I've been enjoying the rest of your posts, thoroughly. I did see Charlie Musslewhite and the Tommy Castro band (sepereately) over the last month. I'd highly recommend either if they come to your town at some p...

I just noticed John Mayall is coming to Chicago. I'm torn about going. Anybody see him and do you recommend going?
