I did not know that about the Les Paul guitars. Seems incredible that one album would also bring two now iconic music brands to stardom with it.

I'm back (again)
Hey Guys! I'm back on the forum again. Just after I came back for the first time last year my entire world started to fall apart with family tragedy. The last 12 months for me have been an incredible journey which has taken me to some of the darkest emotional places that I have ever been to. I hope ...

Nearly 96? That's impressive. It's always sad to lose talent like that though no matter how old. He'll be jamming again with Robert somewhere tonight.

That's awesome. I love the little run at about the 30second mark in the song.

Very cool. Was the strat plugged straight into your computer? I really like the tone that you've gotten with it.

Re: I'm back, plus Clapton's new CD
I don't mind this version of Layla. Certainly not my favourite but it is good all the same. Not my preferred style of music to listen to but I'll buy the album and listen to it all the same. I find even on clapton records that I don't like overall I will still put them on if there is a particular so...

Re: Playing without backing
I play mostly acoustic but this method does cross into electric aswell. Basically I don't use a pick and play the bass line and pick the solo at the same time. Easy if your playing in E in standard tuning. More difficult for anything else. You can get a nice rounded song by just hitting a bass strin...

Re: Partscaster Stratocaster Project
man that's an awesome paint job that you've gotten onto that thing. In all the guitars I've built the paint is always the hardest bit, to be able to get that right is a sign of someone with true patience (i don't even bother painting the bodies anymore... I know it will turn out crap when I do it.) ...

Re: GAS never will Stop!........Mic'ed amps Vs. Computer
It depends what kind of recording im doing. At home - Shure SM 57 mic into Yamaha audiogram6 which goes to my mac and then I record with either Cubase AI 4 or Garageband depending on how much fiddling i want to do. For acoustic at home I either use the SM 57 or a cheap condensor mic with phantom pow...

Re: Boss FBM-1 - will the GAS ever stop.
Got one of these at home. I LOVED it when I had my old solid state amp, used it all the time. Since getting the blues junior I have barely touched it. I think it is great with certain amps but if your using an amp that can already produce that kind of sound then it becomes a bit redundant. Have used...

Re: Query - Stratocaster - anyone tried to ....?
the two guitars that i've made have both had a 'master' tone control. One had a master tone as well as a master TBX (actually more handy than you would think, enables you to do some much finer tweaking short of having a mini EQ setup) and the other had the tone plus a midboost though I don't like th...

ah that sucks. Last time I had a deep cut was in my foot, stepped on a broken bottle whilst fishing, didn't hit bone but I know the sensation your talking about. Heal up quick and keep that wound clean and dressed.

Re: New ride...
Dad had one of those r90's when I was a kid that he had done up as a cafe racer, was really nice. Then he mostly had triumphs after that. I run two bikes at the moment, a triumph thruxton (which I have no picture of on my computer) and a Yamaha Tenere. I think that the blues and motorcycle riding ha...
