The MOST classic 12 bar blues song?

Hi,

Looking for classic blues songs (for teaching) and I wanted a perfect 12-bar blues without variation. 12 bars like Red House or the Sky is Crying rotate the first segment, so they are better for level 2.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Here My Train A Comin - Story?

Hi, Does anyone know the song history of Here My Train A Comin'/Gettin' My Heart Back Together Again? I'm curious about the Hendrix versions, but also what traditional Delta blues songs this is modeled after? By the way, I noticed on the video of Hendrix's acoustic version that after the first take ...

Re: Just a Dream tab request

Jon,

Interesting links - obviously these writers were influenced by Broonzy's version of Just A Dream.

Thanks,

Re: History chart of the Blues?

Ah yes, thanks 12bar. That chart popped nicely into excel. It is an interesting approach to start by sub-genres, though I can see there will be problems or overlaps down the line - like is JLHooker to be placed in pure Delta or Detroit or what about when he incorporates british blues in later pieces...

Re: History chart of the Blues?

Thanks Pena, There are some very nice tributes here. I think more what I am looking for is something more scholarly. If this doesn't exist online, maybe it would be a good graduate school project for someone. (that's what I do when I can't find something, give it to grad students as projects!) . I'l...

counting hambone

Hi,

I'm looking for advice on how to count Bo Diddly's Who Do You Love?

It is kind of like Not Fade Away, but the double count seems to be on the &4 rather than the NFA 1,2,3&

Thanks for any help,
