Re: Y'all gotta hear this!

Losaavedra, I think the drummer got her number, but it seems like some of the numbers are missing. All he said was 38-22-36. :icon_whoknows:  :D

Re: New Amp???

Good to hear you are digging the amp, Bb. Those mods are basically the BillM mods with a couple of ideas I came up with to voice the amp for a cleaner response. I'm tinkering with the idea of converting one of my Pro Jrs. to 6V6 tubes and adding a tremolo circuit. :fingerscrossed: While playi...

Re: My Hot Rodded Blues Junior

I just finished converting a BJ to 6v6's, but I didn't add the choke or go for a larger cabinet. Just did the basic mods for the octal conversion. This was for the owner of the music store I work at. I'm thinking of doing the octal conversion to one of my Pro jrs.. I'm curious as to how close to 5E3...

Don't give them any ideas VB, or I might have to start playing a Flying V.

Re: Trainwreckin' with a special guest

Man, did Bb get that right! :yikes: Last night was worse than a train wreck. Guest screening may be the only answer to prevent a repeat of that episode. It was bad enough that the core band couldn't gel/hook-up. The guest drummer stuck a fork in it. Too bad.

Re: Trainwreckin' with a special guest

Felix is a phenomenal performer. He and his accompanist did a Gypsy Jazz set that was killer! The amp isn't really vintage Tweed Fender, actually. It's a Fender Pro Jr. rehoused in a larger 1x12 tweed cabinet. The amp itself has had a few teaks to make it a lot more full sounding than the stock PJ. ...

Re: Beano is more important than "they "thought!

Mayall is definitely the man when it comes to Brit blues. He has given more blues guitarists a start than any other band leader that immediately comes to mind, IMO. During the Clapton tenure with the Blues Breakers graffiti appeared around London proclaiming "Clapton is God". I tend to thi...

Re: Mhh it's out there on FB.....

Playing in front of people used to terrify me to the point that I could barely play. Actually, I could barely play terrified, or not.
It gets easier the more you do it. I'm no longer terrified...as much, and I've learned a few chords and notes along the way, too.

Re: Can't possibly play a song the same way twice!!!

Ok, finally checked back and I now have cloud cover.

Man, Bb, the Casino is a great sounding guitar, but there's nothing wrong with that Strat either. Recording wise I think the version with the Casino is a better cut/mix.
But then, I have a conflict of interest.

Re: Can't possibly play a song the same way twice!!!

Nice sunny day here today. No clouds in the sky. Not even a soundcloud. Message says they are busy trying to bring things back online.
Too bad, I was curious how those different recordings would compare. I'll check back later.

Re: See if this works...

the guitar you hear at about 5:00 is DeaconBlues, I think he is on his Sheraton. (to good effect  ) I wasn't sure if that was me, or if it was a recording from later in the evening. Sounds too slick for me, but I'm sure that's all due to Poppa G String's mixing talents. Thanks for the kin...

Re: Boss Sustain

Strictly my opinion, but compression like many effects is best used very subtly. The "less is more" approach is very aptly applied to compression. I never use anymore than absolutely necessary. I use so little that it's hard to tell it's even in the mix...until I turn it off. Same goes for...
