Re: Not blues, but nostalgic...
Very cool story and roots. I've heard that song dozens of times and didn't know a thing about it. Nice photo montage on the YouTube vid. 1968 was a year filled with triumphs and tragedies. Thanks for posting.

Fantastic. You should be proud of your son's musicality. My grandmother was an accomplished organist but I think the musical gene ended with her. Pipe organs amaze me though I confess that I know very little about them. Towards the end the organist reaches over with his left hand to pul...

I like it! Reminds me of the psychedelic surf band The Mermen.

Wow. Really nice Bb. I think you were nailing it in terms of tone, cadence, and general vibe.

A more common usage in my experience is:

Re: Replacing toggle on my Sheraton
Nice tutorial Gerd. Apologies if this seems like a dumb question but how did you know that the old toggle was faulty. I'm asking because I don't think my G&L Legacy (which I bought used) has never worked right. There's static or complete cutting out when I switch to the neck pickup. I suspect it...

I've never let not being able to sing stop me from trying; then again, I only sing in the privacy of my own home. And my singing is only marginally worse than my guitar playing.12bar wrote:Many of us don't even sing a note (including me), so being able to sing is already a big step forward.

Interesting. I enjoyed the video and the soundtrack. Is that a man-made irrigation channel or a natural waterway? And how do you paddle so smoothly in such a narrow waterway? I'd think you'd be striking the shore quite often.

:welcome: from Sweden. It seems like you with your long experience has more to teach than to learn. Hope you stay around. Fortunately I'm short on experience so it all balances out. :D Thumb of a big mitten? L.P. MI? Never noticed that until you described it like that. Welcome from the U.S....

Re: How to upload and embed mp3-files
Hi 12bar, I just tried to upload an MP3 file and it quit after a few seconds and said "File too large. Maximum size is 256 Kb." Do our MP3s have to fit in that limit or did I do something wrong? :shy: my fault - I have to check the user permissions again. Usually it should be 8MB. FIXED! ...

It's seeming more and more like 12bar's first instinct was accurate. So far, all of the threads you've started feel like advertisements. And it doesn't look like you've participated in any threads besides your own. My apology in advance if this is an unfair assessment.

I can't comment on your vid from a guitar player standpoint because you're technically way out of my league. From a listener standpoint, I enjoyed the track but I'm wondering if it was just awe for how effortlessly you played the entire fretboard or if the resulting music actually made me "feel...

Was listening to Louis Armstrong playing Loveless Love when I read your counting recommendation and by weird coincidence it seems to work perfectly for that song. I'll try it with Black Peter after Louis' album is over.
