Re: Lonesome Road...
I am so jealous of the great recording quality you folks have demonstrated on this forum. I have some old Bose speakers on my desktop, and the music sounds great through them. I like a touch of reverb to make things sound bigger and this recording, and some of the others I have heard, featured just ...

Just saw "Eric Clapton - Life in Twelve Bars" Documentary
I just saw Eric Clapton's documentary "Life in 12 Bars." It apparently came out in September of last year. I have seen a couple of documentaries on Eric, and they were all so engaging, in my opinion. What a story this man has. There is so much to learn, and he put it all out there. He bare...

That could not have been an easy video/recording to make. It sounded like a great movie soundtrack.
Your work was not in vain, I assure you. That was nice.

Here is a video that gives one man's explanation of Gibson's plight.

Re: minor 6
Do you have any concerns about soloing over a Blues Song that has minor 6 chords instead of minor 7 chords? You would have many bars of consecutive minor 6 chords to solo over. I am going to plug them into my Band in a Box program and see how they sound. I know they make the progressions go more Ja...

I don't recall hearing anything quite like that. It was very fresh and different, in a nice way, and pulled from several influences. I am not very good at listening to music that comes is different from traditional sounds I have heard, but you, and others like you are showing me I might be missing o...

Re: minor 6
Here is a nice article from JensL where he discusses the minor 6 pentatonic scale. I have never heard of this but in it, he says the minor pentatonic, with its b7, does not go well with minor 6th chords. So he replaces the b7 with a 6th. Interesting, but I am not sure that I like the sound yet. http...

Re: minor 6
It might help if you list the progression so we can see what is resolves to, since it is functioning. To be honest, I can spout a bunch of theory, but I have not mastered the theory in practice. I would be lying to myself if I thought anything other than I am a bit of a self-"educated fool,&quo...

Well, you still have the guitar playing covered very well. I was wondering how one could play and sing at the same time so well..

Well done! A friend and I were just talking about how nice it is when you can play guitar AND sing. Looks like you know what I was talking about.
Good stuff.
