Re: Noodling for a short video

Another video noodling - inspired by "Taste of Blues". Recorded drums (vst), bass, keys and guitar - no BT used. Tried to get into a flow, but having not enough time for a one take record it's a bit crippled. Anyway - have fun. It's a tour through my hometown on the water. https://www.youtube.com/wa...

I didn't call it PhD out of any academic connections, but I found out after the event it was in Phrygian Dominant.

Re: Currently listening to...

Martin sure knows what he does! I know Nightwish very well - my son has nearly all of their records. Fantastic voice and very professional musicians! Reminds me of my younger days when I was a bit into classic/symphonic rock (not rock classics) and listening to Renaissance a lot. Funny thing...

Re: Currently listening to...

Oh yes, Can, Amon Düül, Gong - I grew up with them and the other "Krautrock" bands but wasn't much interested. 40 years later  I discover real gems among them from bands I never heard of. Anyway, if you need some raw Blues going over into Jazz - Russell Malone and Diana Kralls version of the fa...

Never change a running system!
My Line6 worked with Win7 but I had to move to 10 and got problems over problems. I'm glad that I now have a hardware solution (Zoom pedal) that does not depend on the OS.

:high5: Mainly Judo. Startet as a kid, stopped for several years (study, job, family), startet again when my son started Judo. Meanwhile did my black belt and trainers license a few years ago. Re: Currently listening to...

Although I'm a bit familiar with Japanese culture (practicing Japanese martial arts and reading books about their history) I never got into their music. Sure - it's pentatonic based, like the Blues, but it's just not my taste :icon_whoknows:

Re: Chorus pedals

It's always interesting when someone joins the forum and starts posting trivial content. A quick search on google confirmed my guess, the text has already been posted elsewhere. Now let's see if I get a response - what are you trying to tell us?

Not much traffic, so maybe we can exchange some interesting music... something others may not know, rather than the usual stuff. First one is crazy - a very funny Krautrock video from a local band (Deichwart) on their "trip" to the USA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKvPeyOmJLA Another weird music...

Re: Les Paul vs Strat for blues.

:welcome:

The tone is in his fingers, even with an epiphone riviera SRV sounds like SRV. On the other hand, it's nice to be able to switch to another setup without the need to adjust pedals and amps, so you can't have too many guitars...

Re: Lonesome Road...

God morning to down under

It's indeed EC who sings it, but I haven't made a tab for it (and don't know if one exists). It's not too hard to figure out the notes, as it's almost pure pentatonic. Other versions can be found on YT from old Blues artists.
