Re: Les Paul vs Strat for blues.

:welcome:

The tone is in his fingers, even with an epiphone riviera SRV sounds like SRV. On the other hand, it's nice to be able to switch to another setup without the need to adjust pedals and amps, so you can't have too many guitars...

Re: Lonesome Road...

God morning to down under

It's indeed EC who sings it, but I haven't made a tab for it (and don't know if one exists). It's not too hard to figure out the notes, as it's almost pure pentatonic. Other versions can be found on YT from old Blues artists.

R.I.P. Ginger, the most talented drummer ever, imho. :tears:

Time to listen to Cream and Blind Faith again. And somewhere I have some of his solo records.

Re: Win 10 Cracked ... at last!

But unfortunately all my old freebie VST ambient synth plug ins are 32 bit. It seems Samplitude 2020 under W10 doesn't support 32 bit and has no bridging for 32 to 64 bit in its programming. Very nearly all the free VST's out there seem to be 32 bit. Ho hum! :icon_whoknows: That's :motz: The never ...

Noodling for a short video

Just some simple lines for background music. Avatar vst for the ambient sound, some vst strings and my guitars. I used the main theme/chords a while ago and without new idea I made another version. We paddled to the Dutch/German border, there's an old pile from 1938 in the bay. https://www...

Re: Win 10 Cracked ... at last!

Good news! Meanwhile Win10 has undergone a lot of bug-fixes especially on the sound side (ASIO etc). My son uses samplitube and his quite happy with it, while I still use an older portable Reaper version. I wish I had more time playing with all the nice vst's... Oh, and nice playing btw

Thanks for sharing pxm! Sounds a bit strange at first, I miss a rhythm or a theme, but on the other hand it's interesting...

Re: I Need My Bed Blues

I just wish i could find more time for meaningful playing instead of just an occasional rushed 10-15 minutes now and then. Oh, yes. I thought I have more free time when getting older, but the opposite happens. A few weeks ago I started a very short noodling for one of my videos, but didn't ev...

The first one sounds a bit like a John Lee Hooker born in Scotland...

The second one is very atmospheric. Walking through the highlands, something like that.

And yes, that tuning it definitely yours. :music1:

- Just back from my holiday in Italy  -

Interesting concept to play around the root note drone, I think I'll give it a try.

BUT, more important, the Early Morning Torpor Blues is clearly among the best acoustic songs you ever uploaded. Just amazing.

Re: Phrasing and timing

I don't have perfect pitch, I even have a hard time to play a melody I have in my head. So I don't think much while playing and let my fingers to the work. That's why I usually play "save", but sometimes I'm lucky to find a new lick or note that fits perfectly although it's not part of the scale I j...
