Re: Loss and Emptiness

No problem Mark, we all have to deal with real life! On the same LP, Larry offered his own version of the Pavane for a dead Princess (Ravel) still on a steel string guitar, another jewel!
Have a nice summer too!

Re: Loss and Emptiness

Oups! wrong spelling! I would write Marin Marais! Sorry :shy:
Marin Marie is a french painter (mainly sea landscape and boats).
Robert de Visée might played on steel string guitar too:

Spring Blues

Nothing better than a string verb for a spring blues... ;-) The translucent Fender's white of the mid-'50s helps a lot to name my very old Strat('59) Miss Blondie :icon_whoknows: Pluged into a '65 Deluxe Reverb and captured with a shure 57 & a Royer 121 (both not to close to the amp), each mi...

Re: Caged Bird (Acoustic)

Wasn't on this forum by the time you first post this song (thanks Gerd for the reminder link :D ) I really enjoy the version you posted @SoundCLick <http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=1022506&content=songinfo&songID=9557092> Thus, I would say I do not understand why you so often blam...

Re: My new girlfriend...

Oh Yes, build quality is as high as Lowden acoustic building standards are! Playability is just astonishing, Lollar Imperial Humbucker are just my prefered humbuckers out there. As usual I'm simply going to replace the bridge pickup (8.4) with a second neck pickup (7.6). I began to use such modifica...

A bit more Detroit Blues to my ears  I remember qualifying as "post moderm" one of your previous post, for this one I would certainly prefer to say "neo punk" Should I have wrote "a bit more Destroy'd Blues" Please don't be offended, just my sarcastic sense of humor :icon_whoknows:...

Re: My new girlfriend...

Thank you bro :D I'll be in the US thru May to end of July, but a bit up North or East... Illinois, Minessota, Whasington State and maybe a short stop by Louisiana on the way back home... Anyhow, I'll certainly not bring Koalynn! There are many guitars to play over there, no need to carry mines

My new girlfriend...

Ain't no excuses, just felt in love with her! She leaves me speachless, and I'm now near to bankrupt since I couldn't resit her... :shy: Went yesterday to a local guitar shop to demonstrate some new products. One was the "GL 10" from the famous George Lowden... Probably the most astonishing guitar I...

Re: Lonesome Road...

Playing drums via keyboard is something I'll have to learn, it doesn't come naturally. Playing drum via keyboard sounds strange to me :icon_whoknows: Give a try to Hydrogen Drum Machine (works with Linux, Windows and Mac), many pretty good drums set available and you also can build your own...

Re: Lonesome Road...

"Just can't be satisfied" Sure that old saying is true when it comes out from the bottom heart of a real artist... To my ears it simply demonstrate your lack of playing with a real band for maybe too long... :icon_whoknows: You maybe didn't acheive finding that acoustic sound you were looking for, h...

Re: Reaper - 1st try

Since I first learn so called "classic music", I've always think Metal and even more Prog Metal are closest to classic musicc than they are to Rock and even more to the Blues! The french Metal band Gojira is an example among others... Too precisely written music to leave a place for real improvisati...

Re: Just saying hi and showing off my latest blues beauties

:welcome: Having 37 guitars at home, I tought I was a real fool... Once again, I was wrong! Agree with you: why more guitar aren't fitted with mini humbuckers ? Since I've discover Lollar's mini, felt in love wiht it and put these jewels on my LP Gold Top and my Epi Dot. The only one I bought with t...

To avoid boredom it's maybe best listened to while smoking something exotic!
Tought humour was english, not scottish... I was wrong indeed!
