Re: Blues Without The Sun

That was fantastic! I am hitting the rewind button as I write this! The Gary Moore finish worked very well.

Re: What kind of gear do you have and are you happy with it?

I have a bit of gear. Currently loving my P90 archtop (Godin Kingpin) for traditional blues and playing a LP Gold Top (Epi) for modern Blues. The amp is a Blues Jr, though I really have fun with my Fender Mustang II (allows me to get quiet, traditional tones).

Re: Specialist Music

Rather than "Specialist" I would prefer to think of Blues music as 'Special". Just like other music that is probably in the "Specialist" section (Jazz??). Think back to how hard Eric had to search for Blues music when he started out. By comparison, Blues music is relatively ...

Re: Any Sean Costello fans here

Sean was special. A true blues player. His legacy is his music. He left us too early.

Re: Name That Les Paul

Bernice... My grandmonther's name is Pauline. She is wonderful - Golden. I guess that would be an appropriate name for my Epi Les Paul :)

Re: getting an acoustic

Not to create confusion, but have you considered an archtop? These guitars go back to the roots of the Blues. I play mine when I want to get that early Blues sound. I have a Godin Kingpin and it has two P90's. This gives me the best of both worlds. I can play plugged or unplugged. Check it out: http...

New Fender Mustang amps

I just picked up a Fender Mustang I. This is the 20 W SS model. It also comes in a 40 W version (Mustang II). I got mine for $100 CDN. Simply put... wow! I have a Blues Jr. that I love, and this complements my Jr. It has a number of amps and effects. It is very easy to use. My favourite is the '57 C...

Re: Teach Me A Lesson

I have been playing for about 6 years. Similar to others, I picked up the guitar when my son started to learn to play. Over this period of time, I think that I have made some pretty good progress. A couple of things that have worked: 1. Lessons - I had a couple of excellent instructors. They allowed...
