Albert was certainly one of a kind.
I've read about his tele and his tone before as well, but I think he is one of the PRIME examples of when people talk about tone being in a person's fingers. The way he snapped those strings was something else. His crazy capo helped too of course.

Re: Firebird X
It amazes me how out of touch Gibson seems to be with their customers. Look at the comments people have posted for the guitar and you can see that it has clearly not received the kind of reception Gibson was hoping for. Hell, a lot of people were more interested in the fact that a good guitar was ru...

I see my link doesn't work anymore.
Nice to learn about unique guitar makers. I am always surprised to learn how many are out there that I do not know about.

Cool Guitar Thread
This may have been done before, but I think it would be fun to have a thread where we post pictures of cool guitars we run across. I look at the "Whats New" on Sweetwater.com's site every day to see what they add. I have no investment/affiliation with the site, but I love their guitar gall...

Kind of a cool idea to show it in theaters with the superior sound, but I will wait for the DVD (can't attend tomorrow anyhow).

Re: ICan't Bend my Strings!
Generally, you don't do many bends on an acoustic, and if you do, they are 1/2 steps. The heavy gauge strings (along with the higher tension they require) on acoustics make it VERY different than bending on an electric. If you don't even plan on buying an electric for awhile, you should try to play ...

Damn, I hadn't heard about the transplant...appears it just happened today, huh?
I just went to an excellent Gregg Allman concert like 3 weeks ago.

Ibanez Artcore AF75T - Possible Buy
I just bought a Classic Vibe 50's Tele, but I saw this posting and thought, damn, this seems like a good deal. I haven't every played any Ibanez guitars, but this model seems to have good reviews and with burstbuckers I bet it sounds quite nice. I may go check it out on Wednesday, but I wanted to ge...

Hope this isn't old news, but I just came across it. Could they have possibly picked a worse picture to use?

Hell ya. I like all his versions. Two favorites are the studio one they have on the "Texas Flood" extra tracks and the Montreaux with Johnny Copeland.Blindboy wrote:

Re: Your favorite slowblues
Two that come to mind for me, both from Mike Bloomfield.
"Blues on a West Side" & "Don't Throw Your Love on Me So Strong" (I prefer Mike's version)
