Blues playing with few notes

I donīt know if you have seen this lesson, but I think its interesting know that you donīt need to use lots of notes to play a good 12 bar blues.

He is using lots of nice sounding simple "few note" licks that can in be combined infinitly.

Re: Blues playing with few notes

I`d say practice bending. half-step, whole step and more.

Then vibratos, pull-offs, hammers-on.

A few notes chosen wisely will make up a musical phrase that will get your point across just fine....Albert King does that superbly.amp

Re: Blues playing with few notes

I think playing blues guitar is mainly about articulation; not the notes you play but how you play them. The video shows this pretty well. Interesting that he is moving his positions up the neck as the tension builds, I usually do the opposite, so that you end up playing in the 'gut' of the guitar.'
