As I am basically rebooting my guitar practice after a long time off - getting in a groove and relearning some basic shuffles is kind of step one. I can still swing a basic shuffle in A or E ---- what are some tips or examples to spice it up ? Any of you have a lead-in or fill you use a lot ? Or some ideas to change it up or funk it up ?
Yeah also working on scales and basic riffs but thats another topic

A good one I find is the standard "woke up this morning" lick.... E-------------5---------
B----------5----8bu10 vib
G---7bu9-------------- (where "bu" is "bend up to")
A great classic Clapton riff (in Tore Down) amongst others:
E----8bu10--8bu9.5--5
B----------------------------8po5--
G-------------------------------------7bu8ld7po5bu6 (this is 7 bend up to 8 let back down to 7 and pull off to 5 and bend this up a semi tone with your forefinger)
Both are in key of A and are minor pentatonic licks.
