Re: Wonderful Tonight on the 24 nights album

That version of one of my favorite songs (cough cough) has been tabbed to death. See http://12bar.de/ftp/tab/wonderful_tonight.tab.txt for some versions. It's not that much different than the usual one. Maybe you can specify a time range?

Re: Wonderful Tonight on the 24 nights album

Hey smile sounds like there is some kind of "inside joke" going on here.big_smile

Is there? Care to fill the rest of us in on it? smile

Or would you rather have a bunch of different "terrible" versions of "Wonderful Tonight" posted? rofl2

Re: Wonderful Tonight on the 24 nights album

This is NO joke, although inside. naughty

http://12bar.de/gif/misc/wt_big_thumb.jpg

OK, for the newbies: I hate this song. Others love it. So I made a final version (see youtube or forum search) with my constrained fingers and the board members (especially two of 'em haha ) promised to stop talking about WT.

From time to time it shows up again, resulting in what you read know. You may use the forum search...  whistle

Where in the world did you find those street signs?!?!? yikes

I don't know just how serious you are about this; (trying to read into this gruebel )

But in any case - it seems I have struck a nerve - so to speak. And since you said that it isn't a joke - I'll take it just as you said. I meant no harm - Sorry  cry2

Personally, I like the song a lot. (but then - I like everything I've heard from EC) But - I'll try to remember this and not bring it back up again, for your peace of mind.

Don't worry, it's all fun! lol

But it's true - I don't like this song. You can hear this at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8el6sK26qk
On the other side I love New York City - unlike Jim S... but that's another story. whistle

EDIT: video removed because of possible copyright violation

Gerd (12bar) already did tab this out, so that's the best reference you'll get to it.  I played from ear and just learned it by ear and improvising, so I don't have a tab of it...

I don't know if this is a different upload of the same show, or if YouTube just changed the URL, but this is the one you're referring to, right?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qneh8eJT … re=related

That, IMO, is THE best live version of WT I've EVER heard (and unlike Gerd, I LOVE this song).. big_smile Sorry Gerd... away

Absolutely by coincidence, I FINALLY got around to adding a video I made to the WT collab HBL (Hans) and I made FOR GERD whistle and just now uploaded it to YouTube :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdflEaOj90s

I know there are possible copyright issues on YouTube, but I'm willing to take the chance (and since the file is not hosted on this site, there should be no issue for Gerd).  The only video I uploaded to YouTube that gets any kind of decent views is "Tears in Heaven" (another cover of EC!) so if they want to delete my YouTube account, then let 'em.  Hopefully it would be a warning instead and then I'd take it down, but... it's too good a collab between HBL and me (IMO!) to NOT have up there (and no lyrics are sung...).

I encoded it at 1280x720 in MPEG H.264 format, so I thought the HD version would fit fine (per YT's suggestions) but there are "bars" on the sides in HD, so I guess I'll either live with it or upload it again before it gets many views.

This Beta 3 of Firefox is doing some WEIRD things in the MAC version while typing this....

THAT part *shouldn't* depend on the browser - unless having cookies enabled/disabled *might* be involved (Gerd - I know you never want to speak to me again after putting more WT into the world! big_smile  but is there any issue besides getting the user-name and EC's middle name right?  Is it case-sensitive? ).

Are you positive you've got both of those entries correct and if you are - try upper and lower case for the first letter, just in case, and also make sure cookies are enabled...  I *CAN'T* just tell you what the answer is, as a whole mess of copyright hassles for Gerd are involved... Hopefully, it's the case or cookies that's causing the problem.

Re: Wonderful Tonight on the 24 nights album

It`s in G major. 7 notes.

G - A - B - C - D - E - F# - G

I believe the intro chords(Keyboard) are

Cadd9(or you could play C too) and D

Re: Wonderful Tonight on the 24 nights album

EC plays:

C                                       D

e-----------------------------------------------
b------------5/7----8--10----7--------------
g----------------------------------5--5-------
d------5----------------------------------------

C                                                 D

e-----------------------------------------------
b------------5----3h5p3---------------------
g---------------------------5-4-------------
d-------5------------------------------5/7-----

C                                       D

e-----------------------------------------------
b------------5/7----8--10----7--------------
g-----------------------------------5--5------
d-----5-----------------------------------------

C                                              D                                   G

e-----------------------------------------------------------------------
b------------5----3h5p3----------------------------------------------
g-----------------------------5-4---5/7--7/9--9/11--11/14--12--
d-----5--5-------------------------------------------------------------

And then the normal well known intro smile

Wonderful song! No pun intended! Has the beauty and simplicity of the blues, IMO
