Re: 25 Years Ago Today
Thanks HBL.
25 years ago my beard was black - there's a few game black hairs still hanging on but they're now an opressed minority. Also 25 years ago the central heating boiler was working - wish it still was. About to break out the hot water bottles and put on extra fleeces!
Is it possible to play the guitar with gloves on?

no hot water that must be quite ... hmmm.... mhhh unpleasant to say the least
about playing a guitar with gloves on... well if you put a glove on the headstock I don't see a problem
But something is whispering in my ear you didn't mean putting gloves on a guitar

Re: 25 Years Ago Today
Congrats VikingBlues...great 'before' pic. How about an 'after' pic!
My sweet wife and I will hit 23 years in October of this year.
We got married on October 9, 1987 just so we could easily remember the date...(10...9...8...7).

That brought a smile to my face for the first time this evening.
Good date!! The best we can manage is that ours is the first day of the tax year (6th April) and (unfortunately being an accountant) I can (fortunately) remember it. Too many brackets Viking.wildwood wrote:We got married on October 9, 1987 just so we could easily remember the date...(10...9...8...7)
Not sure the world's ready for an after pic, but we'll see. Was thinking of doing a pic tonight but we had too many fleeces on and would look even more rotund than usual.

CONGRATULATIONS VB... Great picture. Not many couples last even five these days so it seems that you two made the right decisions back 25 years ago. I've got a few years ( ) on you but 25 is a natural milestone!!! Sounds like the boiler is working just fine in your marriage!

Re: 25 Years Ago Today
Congratulations, VB. That's really something to celebrate. I wore a beard like that and glasses like that (my frames were black) for many years. Now I'm mostly bald and my beard is gray - but my wife still loves me and our marriage rolls on. Best wishes for the future to you and your wife.
Re: 25 Years Ago Today
Congratulations! 25 is an achievement. You are both very lucky.
My wife and I will celebrate 5 years on May 1st. (not either of our first, but both of our last, marriage)

Golfxzq, JimRR, Blindboy, 12bar. Thank you all very much for your messages.
Sun shining again today and the heating's back on. No need for fleeces and hot water bottles tonight.
Hope you both have a good day on May 1st Blindboy. And JimRR isn't it great we can deteriorate hair-wise and weight-wise but the love don't fade.
Oh, and before I forget again - love the blinking avatar Golfxzq.

15 minutes after my posting this ridiculous optimistic comment Sandra slipped on the stairs, went over on her ankle, and we spent the evening at the Accident and Emergency Hospital 20+ miles away in Edinburgh.
After an hour and a half we got seen and got x-rays done - nothing broken thankfully.
What next??
Oh, and I've got the auditors in at work checking our last years figures - like having to have an annual driving test. The fun never stops!

VB...
I once heard a quote for days like that...
"Cheer up, things could be worse. So I cheered up. Sure enough.... things got worse"
