I can't identify me

Post by MichaelRobinson »

I have a depression and a melancolic personality. This make it hard to play in major. I prefer songs in minor keys. I can, in some extens, identify me with sad blues.

How about you ?

I prefer playing in a minor key too.

Though that has a lot to do with the way the notes seem to fall naturally for me. Playing in major keys my note runs etc sound much more dull to me.

I do also find it easier to try to produce feelings / emotions through the guitar that are of a melancholy / sad nature - so that fits in with minor key better. Also minor key fits slow blues, and when your fingers ain't that fast the slow blues is much easier to attempt.

In general I'm not particularly melancholic - I do lean towards pessimism rather than optimism though.
An improv a day keeps the demons at bay!
