In the name of God, Eric Clapton and the Slowhand, Amen.

I agree it's very important!

You're right, nothing new so far, but interesting discussion below the article. Looks like some people still didn't know nothing about one of the best recordings ever...

I did not know that about the Les Paul guitars. Seems incredible that one album would also bring two now iconic music brands to stardom with it.

Interesting reading.
Just thought I'd make the point that EC isn't the only brilliant musician on the album. John Mayall's influence is sadly under-rated in the history of The Blues.
His bands have been a driving force for generations.
The 'Beano' and 'Disraeli Gears' are seminal.

"Big Bill Broonzy, a white boy's inspiration" (1963), and the Blues ever since.

Mayall is definitely the man when it comes to Brit blues. He has given more blues guitarists a start than any other band leader that immediately comes to mind, IMO.
During the Clapton tenure with the Blues Breakers graffiti appeared around London proclaiming "Clapton is God". I tend to think that the graffiti artist just misspelled "Good". But, then Eric was darned good in those days compared to many other guitarists who were around.
