Epiphonia Song

Feel like a horse whisperer when it comes to tame my new Epi es-339
Same BC amp, no pedal, simple experiment of both coil-splitting knobs
on the two ProBuckers (switch on the middle position).
The song is my "appreciation" for a Robben Ford's guitar lesson :D

Absolutely sweet sound, is it a mic record? How did you get the reverb?

Thanks Gerd :D
USB rec out direct from the Blues Cube back panel...
Reverb is the onboard reverb of the BC too...
Kinda perfect imitation of the famous Fender Spring Reverb...

Recorded on a dedicated Asus laptop running AVLinux. Daw is Ardour 5.x.

The mono track is duplicated and then "disaligned"...
This gives a sort of "delay" giving a kind of "backward feedback" to the reverb.
The magic here is that you can feel some "space" but you can't hear the "delay"... Too short!

This idea comes from the calf reverb plugin, but since I already was using the amp reverb,
I wouldn't use the plugin on top of that, however I feel I don't need it actually!

Next time I'm planning to record USB output on one track + a front mic on another... just to experiment :D
:snacks: and

PS.
Add Now the Epi LesPaul Standard (Lollar Imperial Low Wind pups)

EpiPaul's Blues.mp3 - (8.63 MiB)

Same laptop, same daw an AKG C414 + Sennheiser e609 + the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20.
Same amp and its fabulous onboard reverb, clean channel, 45 W output power selected
(0,5 W, 15 W, 45 W, Max available).
Both mics on their stands, about one foot away from the speaker (Sennheiser a bit closer),
20° V positionned, AKG in a lower position (10 inches below the Senn).
Two mono (96khz) mixed with Ardour (no plugin etc.), downgrade to mp3/320 with audacity.

:away: giging to night

Oh yes! This doesn't sound like something via USB...
I'm currently a bit on Rockabilly guitar (Carl Perkins, Scotty Moore,... :eye_rub: ) and try different ways on my POD Farm, like slap plate or tube echo, but the BC is really ahead of this.
I even like it more than the mic'ed LP...

Yep BC is definitively an astonishing amp!
USB Rec-Out... Oh Lordy Lord helps me so bad... for mics to part

I'm really a Tubes aficionado and got few amps already:
Blues Junior, Tweed Twin 57 reissue, Princetone BF and my beloved Ceriatone 50 W
Dumble clone wich was my everyday-everywhere amp 'till I bought that BC!

Only 14kgs to carry, half my Ceriatone head... :phew:
It has a Clean and Boost channels you can combine using the Dual Tone switch...
A Boost and a Tone Switch on each channel...
Of course its pedalboard companion lets you play with all these possible combinations...
Now and then I feel like gonna travel lite!

To be honest the Ceriatone is still on top because of the bunch of harmonics
it delivers thru its 2x12 Creamback Celestion cab and how it works so perfectly with
the TC Electronic HoF Reverb! (another close to perfect imitation of the famous FSR)

But when it comes to record smth, you've got to mic the beast and yet you reach the same
old mic'ing troubles :wall:

Wow Rockabilly! Carl Perkins, Scotty! Too far beyond my own groove, never been a big R&R fan
so to speak :shy: , all my heroes really are Blues or Jazz Musicians...
Noodling with Chick Corea's Spain theme at the moment...

Great sounds in both those audio clips, and you have the chops to make the most of your equipments quality.

The Back Panel recording and the sound manipulation you set up do a great job of producing realistic sounds. The track duplication / disalignment route is an often useful tool when done right like you have.
