Experimental Mood

Post by fenson »

Kinda weather forecast inspired use of an experimental pedalboard ;-)

I like it! Reminds me of the psychedelic surf band The Mermen.
Cheers!

@12bar:
Hey that is the very first time one use the psychedelic adjective to qualify anything I could have done :lol:
Great I feel like having a new skill :cool:
In fact, just an out take of a stage sound track I'm doing for a local theater company I'm working with.

@MikeL:
Thanks Mike! Never heard of The Mermen before... Sure I'm gonna listen to what they do asap

First half is just beautiful atmospheric noodling, but the second I'd consider psychedelic! :big_smile:

Very moody and good to listen to. A good mix of blues and experimental. :clap: :thumbsup:

Yes - the second part does indeed have a pyschedelic edge to it.

Was it just my ears playing up or was the pedalboard providing some faint chirruping early on that sounded like cicadas?

@both 12bar & VB
Thanks for your kind compliments :D

@VB
Pedalboard is:
TC Electronic "Hall Of Fame" Reverb and Delay, Vertex BOOST, Line 6 "Green Box" and Beatbuddy (loop), Dunlop Wha

I use a Clator (effect buffer) combined with my slightly modified Ceriatone Overtone Special 50.

Hydrogen does the drums part, Ardour/Mixbus is my DAW.
Calf and VST plugins have been used to achieve this "faint chirruping cicadas", might be :D
When "polishing" the final mix... Here and there, I was trying to add some rubbing granularity to both guitar and bass... Maybe what that evokes cicadas :icon_whoknows:

Let it breathe( :wink: ) and keep it :cool:
