Fingerpickin'

Post by Blindboy »

This video shows the difference in tone and response between the Strat and the SG, used in my previous vid. All amp settings were the same, no pedals were used, both played with fingers rather than a pick. Neither one of these videos have very good sound (the mix was much better in person), but maybe you can hear the differences.

I could sit there all night...
The amp settings seem to fit better to the strat I think - or is it just me?

I would say different rather than better / worse. :icon_whoknows:

But I find it difficult because (1) the style and mood of the two pieces is quite different, (2) the song you played on the SG is a particular favourite of mine due to some really tasty chord voicing and (3) I enjoy listening to the music and forget to try and evaluate it!

It is perhaps unlikely that both guitars would have the same sweet spot on the amp settings.
