First attempt...

Post by Blindboy »

This is a deceptively difficult tune to pull off. It's so easy to rush it or overplay (as I do here... )
This is our first try at it. I showed the gang the changes, and we gave it a shot.

We need to work up an intro of some sort, and I need to figure out what I want to do for the solos. It's fun having the kind of gig where we can work up new material onstage and people put up with it. :D

The ideas go in the right direction...
Love this tune, some years ago I posted a version. Overplaying was never a problem for me  I'm too slow...
I wouldn't be able to play there with the flashing disco lights. I admire that you can focus so much on your playing!

Nice to hear the embryonic stages of the creative process especially when they're as promising as this.

I'm another one that can't overplay - if I get much slower in my advancing years my playing will sound like it's going backwards!

I look forward to hearing further progress on this song.

Thanks, fellers... We're going to try to tighten it up Monday night.
One doesn't have to play fast to overplay... (I can't play that fast. ) It is more a matter of leaving spaces.
Gerd, the lights are exaggerated by the camera. They aren't that bad in person, and I usually have my eyes closed, anyway. I don't even notice it.
