This one is a cover of the old ZZ Top classic... I'm back on the Casino... I broke a string on the Strat, and am playing the Casino for a while.

That's what I call a "cover"! Don't care 'bout "this not so good recording", IMHO you've got it!Blindboy wrote:This one is a cover of the old ZZ Top classic...

Damn - I just love the chords in this number!
Gotta love the way it's played too - and it doesn't matter about the sound quality - the quality of the performance shines through.
The Casino did you fine on this number for sure.

Sure. You know the art of fingerstyle. It sounds good and I played with you on my Fender strat. Not fingerstyle. With a pick
Re: Yet onother Trainwreck vid...
Thank you, gentlemen... I appreciate the kind words. Glad y'all enjoyed it.
This vid was shot by our buddy James, who, with his wife, was moving away the next day. He wanted a little reminder of the fun community we have up here.
I am vastly fortunate to have the band and the musical community that I do. We are all good friends, and we are able to make the music that we love. A good rhythm section is, for a guitarist, like having a big old sofa to roll around on... knowing that it is going to be there for you when you settle back down.

VB, I couldn't even name those chords... They are minors, mostly, I guess I could diagram them. But, yeah, they sound pretty cool, don't they.VikingBlues wrote:Damn - I just love the chords in this number!
Thanks, Michael, I'm glad you wanted to jam along, whether with pick or fingers. I use a pick on about a quarter or so of ours songs.MichaelRobinson wrote:Sure. You know the art of fingerstyle. It sounds good and I played with you on my Fender strat. Not fingerstyle. With a pick

Re: Yet onother Trainwreck vid...
I get something vaguely similar if I play an A Minor at the open position and then strum back upwards on the strings with the same Am except also holding down the F at the first fret on the 1st string.Blindboy wrote:VB, I couldn't even name those chords... Then there's a Dm with some sort of suspended Dm alternating. Only I've no idea how to get something similar higher up the fretboard without straining my old fingers (and old brain).
Something like that .... maybe!!
It certainly ties in with what you said about minor and also suggests why I like it so much - minor chords and suspended chords are high on my list of likes.
