My Strat May Be Minor

Post by VikingBlues »

Please pardon the pun. :wall:

B Minor Blues - a tad more crunch. Direct mic recording from Vox AC4TV. Self Build Strat through Artec Blues Driver and EHX Nano Holy Grail Reverb. I think this and the 6x8 slow blues piece demonstrate fairly well the sounds I'm getting. Neck/Middle setting this time - was bridge/middle for the 6x8. I find myself gravitating to positions 2 and 4 - must be the Knopfler influence.

So the holiday is close and I'll be getting the screwdriver out and dismantling in the next few days. Now where's those instructions? Then we'll see how Viking gets on with his finishing skills. :yikes:

My Tokai and Hagstrom will be counting the days and hoping I take my time on the finishing job. The poor girls are very neglected this last few weeks. :tears:

The BT is one of a few free evaluation BTs I got from GuitarJamz.com a while back.

Nice sound and nice playing

And as far as I'm concerned positions 2 and 4 is what a strat is all about!

I'm amazed and surprised to have built a "keeper". Shows I can get there in the end. :high5:

I get quite a buzz from positions 2 and 4 - strange that as the guitar gets quite a buzz in the other positions!

Thanks HBL - it's been a pretty huge surprise to me. I've had several strat style guitars over the years and I've never got on well with any of them and never with any new guitar have I had this strong an impact on my playing. And the fact that it's come with a self-build makes it even more baffling. :icon_whoknows:

I am now beginning to understand why so many of you on the forum love your strats.

There's nothing like a good strat! Everyone should have one (or 10)!

 Sweet sounds from your Strat. Interesting how a different guitar can take your playing in different directions.
Looking forward to hearing more.
