Hi everyone, its great to be here and explore this great site with so many things bluesy to offer. i hope i can make some new acquaintances and further my blues education.

Thanks for the welcomes.
And yes i intend to stay around.
Just a little more about myself, cant play standard anymore due to auto immune issue fingers just dont want to move.
So i tuned to open D and started messing around and found really enjoy the sound coming out.
Just using my thumb and index to pluck / strum strings

No,dont use slide as of yet. just barre with finger.

to the forum Zimmie.
I hope you find the help here you're looking for with moving on with the blues. You can do a lot of good blues work with a thumb and index technique.
If you are messing around with open tunings and looking at blues then a slide is a great option - it's a bit of a shortcut to instant "Delta" without needing to play anything too complicated. Once you get the basic slide technique in place that is, and assuming you have one that fits properly!
