Re: Kalles Amps

Hi
When the kids are out and you and your nice wife is living in a large house you will get some extra rooms for your musical stuff.
The room where I have my amps , I also use as a "rehersal room" with my guitar friends . Only thing that is missing is a drumset..

Re: Kalles Amps

Hi Blindboy Yes, the Egnater Tweaker and KLD 30H ( a Peavey Classic 50 clone with all original design weaknesses removed) are two very good and sound flexible amps. But the Speakers are nearly as importand for the sound as the amps. The Crate has a Celestion G12K-100 12" 8 ohm element and the B...

Re: Kalle the bass player

Yes Bass playing helps me to find ( on the fingerboard) where all notes in chord are in reference to root note. Root, fifth and octave is BASS´ic notes, but finding the uniqe notes for minor, major and seven chords adds up the possibility to improvise. And it also force/teaches me to take control of...

Re: Bugera V22

Hi Michael After a research on internet I have found lots of info about the Bugera V22 (and V55) including schematics. The V22 is a close copy of a Peavey Classic 50 with a 2 EL84 20-22 W power amp. In most respect very similar to my KLD GT30 (4 EL84 = 30-40 W). Therefore I believe that you will be ...

Re: Bugera V22

Hi Michael The Bugera V22 seems to be a 22W all tube combination of VOX AC15 and Peavey Classic 50. It has all the controls of Classic 50 plus "top boost"/bright input of a AC 15. Very similar in build-up as my KLD 30H top (a Classic 50 clone with 4 EL 84 power tubes). With 22 "tube&q...

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you all .
Christmas eve is the most important Christmas holiday day in Sweden.
It´s the day when you get the christmas gifts and most often meet the family members and eat a christmas meal (Julbord = a christmas version of the "swedish smorgasbord").

Kalle playing bass on beatles Something

Hi Guys Not Blues but here is fast recording I did today. Playing a some what simplified bass version of Beatles Something over an original recording of Beatles https://app.box.com/s/ira48omj3semkdqw7w4p I can hear some timing errors here and there ( a bit before the beat) and some un-neccesary note...

Kalle the bass player

Hi Guys You might remember that I am playing with jam band at work. What has happend is that the bass player left the band to play with another band. It ended it up with that I took over the bass player role. It´s rather fun to play the bass in a band and not so difficult if you have played guitar b...

Re: Playing quit with a Tube amp at high power

Yes, if the speaker out is 4 ohm a 4 ohm resistor should be OK. The power handling capability ( in watts) of the resistor should be at least the same as the output power of the amp if you want to run the amp att full output power. BUT , I am normally using two 15 ohm/10W resistors (mounted on a smal...

Playing quit with a Tube amp at high power

Hi Guys I read about VB´s Blues Junior direct Line out project. I have similar approach playing with tube amps without any sound in the house. I have Berhinger Ultra-G DI box connected to Speaker out on the Amp and a 8 ohm 20W resistor load instead of speaker. Then I connect the Ultra G DI XLR outpu...

Re: Old amp

Hi Michael The old german amps from the sixties and early seventies are good stuff. see http://www.albertkreuzer.com/bassking.htm They are normally better designed than Fender or Marshall from the same time. The Bass King versions with Tube pre-amp should be possible modify for electric guitar use w...

Re: New tube amp. project

Hi Guys The second of the amps is now working fine after a change of output transformer. The nice thing is that we now have two identical amps connected to identical speakers. I have an A/B footswitch in front of the amps wich makes it possible by a klick of the foot changing the guitar from one amp...

Re: New tube amp. project

The first of the two amps is now working after a change of output transformer. ( the second will be fixed tommorow, as a lesson for my friend) It is possible to get a sound (from clean to full dist) very similar to the sound of my Egnater Tweaker. This amp is modified by the manufacturer in two step...

Re: New tube amp. project

Hi VB , yes I know , the voltages inside a tube amp is letal.. The retirement age for myself is closing in, and to be a tube amp "doctor" in old years could be fun and interesting. And most of tube amp are built with old time technology ( through hole mounted components) and they are spaci...

New tube amp. project

Hi Guys I have new Amp project on going. I and music friend of mind got two faulty (output transformer) tube amps at a very good price. This is truly a "hobby project" of my self as I need some "hands on" engineering challengesis. This is the amp we got KLD GTH30-H http://www.you...
