Re: Who's there?

It is a shame.

I stumbled across the video collab of "Old Man of the Sea" a couple of days ago.
I was marvelling at the great HBL guitar lines played on the trusty Tokai.

Re: Nearly 3 More Months

Thank you guys! Three little marvelous pieces of Music VB  Listening to your music reminds me the great Bill Frissell, specially "Slim Finch" and "Two Fingers for Fretting" If I've some spare time, I might do some post-prod as I already did with your Dorian Improv ... If ...

Nearly 3 More Months

Every 3 months or so I realise I've not posted any music here, and usually also realise I've not done anything very bluesy. Same this time! But in case anyone cares to try some other genres of an acoustic nature ..... :music1: The Small Slim Finch.mp3 Very loosely based on, and much changed from, a ...

Keeping me busy ....

.... and not much time for forums! https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4517/37771175294_f11576e077_z.jpg A little 9 1/2 week old bundle of mischief! With lots of tiny sharp pointy teeth. I've only played about 5 minutes of guitar in the last week and a half. But it's worth it. :D It looks like our older d...

Re: Blues Modality Applied

Sorry - this is a very delayed response - we have a new puppy in the house and all other leisure and pastimes have disappeared. I've only played about 7 minutes of guitar in the last week and a bit and hardly ventured onto any forum. I like the inventiveness of this recording and your attempts to fi...

Re: Ramblin'

The music for the video has mood and feel that fits, finger-noise or not! :D Whenever I see these paddle videos I think the solitude and the lack of noise except for natural sound must be very restful for the mind. Maybe not so restful for the body with all the paddling of course. I enjoyed the play...

Re: Another shade of "Fusion"

More good links guys -thanks for posting them and I'll enjoy working through them! A bit more obscure .... Crossover of prog, renaissance and medieval. Gryphon - their album "Midnight Mushrumps" remains a favourite of mine after over 40 years. Bassoon, trombone, crumhorn, recorder, mandolin, flute, ...

Re: Another shade of "Fusion"

What a wide variety of music you've sent us to in those links fenson! I did find Corky Siegels Chamber Blues more convincing than the William Russo Blues Band / Orchestra piece, though the opening of the latter caught my fancy before it went into shuffle mode. Difficult mix to pull off wi...

The cube is doing you proud.

Am I right in thinking that the Ardour DAW is a freebie one. Great value if so!

Re: Epiphonic Blind Test

Congrats Blindboy!! It's interesting how none of the three of us were at all sure, despite Blindboy and I both agreeing on a basic sound type for the two guitar sounds. I know that about the time my interest veered away from electric and towards acoustic guitar the trend for pickups was f...

Re: Last lesson frm the late great Larry

There's no such thing as a wrong note. I like the sound of that world! That lesson would be a great experience for so many of those kids. The man went out while still at the top of his game. Though I can't help feeling that's not a great pay-off for passing at only 73. Truly one of the guitar greats...

Re: Epiphonia Song

Great sounds in both those audio clips, and you have the chops to make the most of your equipments quality. The Back Panel recording and the sound manipulation you set up do a great job of producing realistic sounds. The track duplication / disalignment route is an often useful tool when done...

Re: Epiphonic Blind Test

Hmmmm???!! The first guitar seemed to have more clarity of individual notes and the second guitar a thicker sound. As to whether that should make one a Gibson and one an Epiphone is beyond me! Bit if I was to believe that the Gibson pickups were of superior quality I guess that would mean I'...
