Re: One of mine and a folk Trad PD

Who is talking about musical taste? Not me! Many Blues do not adopt the strophic form (Big Bill Broonzy) so many use inversion all along a "simple Blues" (Memphis Slim/Willie Dixon --had the wonderful chance to see them together many times in Paris by the sixties in St Germain des Prés... :D ) Once ...

Re: One of mine and a folk Trad PD

Y So where does that leave the less skilled musician like me? Scrabbling away in the hope that something might work. Here again, I feel like you're "mixing concepts": skilled and gifted! By the way you hopefully don't have to play all the notes a chord mights contain to ...

Re: One of mine and a folk Trad PD

In Blues we have an even more fixed form, sometimes only one chord over 5 minutes... it has the same way of becoming a major problem if the length of the piece being played goes on too long - that 5 minute barrier gets broken in blues and it needs to be a collaboration so the contrasting guitar sty...

Re: Valentin Danev - Christmas blues (HD)

Hi Valentin, Despite both BB and VB eventually like your "Minor Blues (HD)", I do prefer your Christmas Blues in C, the way you come in is pretty interesting and quite well done  Also articulations and vocabulary sounds most interesting at least to my ears :icon_whoknows: Agree with 12bar,...

Re: Chord identification

Yep! Pleasing gig! Playing some chamber music! Thanks :D As Papastache says in one of his video, he is going to "show" you how to play Hey Joe and he eventually did (didn't watch the entire vid). But my purpose wasn't about how to play something (a lick, or a whole song either - (considering your pr...

Re: Chord identification

Hi muddywolf,

Stay tuned, I'm going for few gigs with friends so it mights take few days before you got a better answer ;-)
Just a tip for the day: sing what you're listening and want to play and try to play it (think to tab by the way, it helps indeed...) ;-)

You're welcome bbmuddywolf :D That's the old good recipe: "Learn From the Masters"... Ok Let's focus on chords identification... As 12bar said, training your ears eventually is the best way... Don't be afraid, a good training always give good results, unless you're deaf indeed  ( :shy: sorry......
