Re: Humbucker vs P90 vs Single Coil pickup

Hi VB
No, I don't know what type of Alnico that is used in the P90 pickups.
Only information is that they are "overwound"i.e. hot.
"AXL says that they are some of the hottest pickups that they put on their guitars".

Re: New Guitar

Hi Here is a picture of the guitar: http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h93/Kalle_in_Sweden/AXL%20MJZ%20guitar%20front.jpg After some research on the net I believe that it is an AXL "Badwater" MJZ and not a "Marquee". The Badwater serie has a more "vintage" look with bronze colored mechanics and a hea...

Re: New Guitar

Hi VB
Its Jazzmaster "copy".
I don't know much about the Guitar maker AXL Guitar other than it's US brand www.axlguitars.com that manufacture most of theire guitars in china, but some of them are assembled in US with "better" quality mechanics.

Playing bass with a choir

Hi Guys I have also joined a local choir with members from a retirement organisation ( 65 and older). But I must say that I am feeling a young compared to most members in that organisation. New Bass amp for rehersal room

Hi Guys When I joined the new band I needed a amp for the rehersal room and also for future coming gigs. I found a second hand (but nearly not used) TC Electronics BG250(W)-115 (15") Mk1 combo for a good price. http://www.tcelectronic.com/bg250-115/ It's compact and very light for a 15" combo, only ...

Playing bass in a new "Blues" band

Hi Guys I have now joined a new "forming up" blues band as bass player. This is a band with only "senior" members, all over 63... A very experienced guitar player and singer, a good drummer and me... A typical song we play is the early (60:ties) Fleetwood Mac song "Merry go round"; https://www.youtu...

Re: Kalle singing

Hi This version of "I walk the line" is a choir version we did last autum that has only two verses and no instrumental intro or outro. Peculiar enough, the high pitch part is actually the bass or tenor part.. I normally sing the bass parts, as I, as most men are "barytone" singers, neither tenor or ...

Re: GAS attack - multi effect pedal

Hi Gerd
The distorted sound from the Tonelab LE is a bit too "sharp" for my taste.
It sounds as the Tonelab starts to distort at a lower level than the Toneport.

Re: Wow Windows 10

I just found a drawback with Win10 on my old HP PC. The old Video drivers don´t work in Win10, so you need to use the basic video driver that comes with Win10. And it does not have the optimum screen resolution for my display(=1440x900). /Kalle PS It ended up with a new medium performance Graphic ca...

Re: Wow Windows 10

I should not have said anything about using Vista... It chrashed for me(did not start up) and I did not had Vista on a CD. Only a total reset CD.. I did a backup( with a HP tool in the PC) of everything and then reset the PC to original start (from 2006).. But I then decided to install Win10 also on...
