Re: Approach to chord substitution

thanks! i think that i begin to understand this...so it's more a question of "voicing" than substitution? or this concept would be wrong? Another example that showed me (of course i don't understand) is instead of playing the typical turnaround (playing in A) he plays the third instead the...

Approach to chord substitution

Hi, my teacher has showed me some things about chord substitution in order to apply this stuff in a blues progression, but i don't understand some parts about this. If we are in A, my teacher in the turnaround instead of E7/DMaj7/A7/A7, he plays G#m7(b5)/F#m7/A7/A7. I think that i understand the fir...

EC 'signature endings'

Hi, recently i've been trying to get that "sweet" endings that Eric does for example in the version of "Clapton and Friends" in the song Wonderful Tonight. I am refering to the last lick, that I think he usually does in major songs, but I don't know for sure. Does anybody know wh...

Re: Outside Woman Blues cover

Hi! in my opinion you should work on the timing and the rhythm of the song, in some moments i felt "loosed". Too, a good thing i think that would be to low down the gain so the notes will sound more clearly!

Re: Beck & Clapton

The highlights of the night, in my opinion, were i shot the sheriff (in some moments blowed my mind) and beck's instrumental nessun dorma. A good...

Re: Major Scale: get confortably

weelie, i've been out a few days, sorry!! I haven't got any particular backing, but i think that to learn major pentatonic will be a sure method to get comfortable with this scale. I believe that the major problem is that i've been always playing with minor pentatonic and minor natural, and now it's...

Major Scale: get confortably

Well, i write my first post talking about major scale. The first scale I learned was the pentatonic, in first position (tipical) and them i moved around the neck and i learned all the fretboard, i added some sweet notes, and other notes. So, with the pentatonic i haven't got any problem. But with th...
