Mission Trip Guitar Needed

Hey guys, I know it has been a long time since I have posted, so let me start by saying how helpful this site has been in my infant guitar years so far (hit 2 years in March). I just used 12bar's guidance to learn the Unplugged version of Layla and will probably post a track I am recording of it wit...

Re: Gotta love this.....

Very awesome, and I totally agree with the message. Not to go too deep or anything, but I don't even watch the news anymore because of the darkness of it, and I'm only 19 :baby: I'm just tired of it. On a lighter note, I've never seen a Uke played like that, usually they use it much lou...

Re: How Blue Can You Get -- Need a bit of assistance

Yupp, the plan was actually to write my own song, but everything just kept coming back to that tune. Thanks a lot for the help :high5:

I'll give it a shot and hollaback if I need any more assistance

How Blue Can You Get -- Need a bit of assistance

Hey guys, First off, just want to thank you guys for all your help last year. This is my first time back on the forum in a long time, and I'm loving the new emoticons. Anyway, I'm writing a song for my girlfriend, and all of the pacing and rhythm inspiration has come from B.B. King's "How Blue ...

Re: voodoo chile blues?

This is where I got my tips about it. It starts pretty boring, but stick with it, because there are some tips to really make it sound like Jimi.

Re: El Mano On A Hot Friday Afternoon

Very impressed man. The Blues are so cool, because anyone (except me so far) can put on a backing track and just got. I'm impressed.

I'll get it eventually, I just started playing, someday that'll be me (except the gray and old part, that could take longer)

Re: Remembering songs

Just play it play it play it. And as to "feeling the chords" you shouldn't stick to any strict chord changes "because it says so." Change chords when it feels like its time to change chords (sing the song while you play, that'll make you "feel" the chord change). And so...

Re: Spanish boy

I'm not from Spain (far from it) but I am about your age (18) and though I just picked up the guitar (hace tres meses) I have some type of professional musician dream. I live in New Mexico, namely southern NM, where the main language really is Spanish, and there are no blues whatsoever, so I feel yo...

ICan't Bend my Strings!

So, I've been at this for almost a month (three weeks? idk) I feel like I'm starting to get this, and my fingers are limbering up and everything, I'm getting the theory, working on my hammer-ons and pull-offs, memorizing scales, learning new songs (I know its not blues, but I'm working on "Man ...

Re: Buying first electric, need help

Yea, my home state is NM but I'm in college in Dallas. I hope to learn from the ones who have been playing for a long time and the ones who just started, as I'm sure I'm near the worst of the bunch, but happy to improve and put in the hours necessary to do so

Re: New kid in town...

Wow, if he lowers your median age, I sink it like a rock. I'm 18 years old, a Dallas-based college student who just started playing guitar about three months ago, teaching myself. I'm now hooked on blues and hope that you guys can help me out if I need anything, I seem to be the :baby: of the site. ...

Buying first electric, need help

Hey guys, i'm pretty new to guitar (been playing for three months) and want to buy an electric guitar, just a basic one for something different from acoustic. I love my acoustic (its a Hohner 220, i know its not a great one critically speaking, but we really get along well), but want an electric jus...
